Born to recent immigrants from southern Africa, I was raised in the epicenter of Silicon Valley, Palo Alto, CA. I worked in my father’s radar and RF communication lab from a young age. That experience gave me a love for making things that progressed to machining, automotive and, as a way to pay for college, framing houses. After University, I devoted myself to solid modeling and architectural design, later focusing on commercial real estate development and brand-centered spaces.  

My wife and I live on a 3 acre compound in Santa Cruz California with a mostly calm but sometimes raging river between our house and the driveway. I've been rebuilding our bridge for several years.  We have two sons.

We love exploring lonely, remote places around the American West in a series of ever more capable bespoke overlanding vehicles, the focus of much design and making. We are currently on our forth iteration.
